#BudweiserMadeInAmerica: Recap: We Had a Blast

Over the weekend we hit the Budweiser Made In America Festival in Philadelphia, PA for the 4th time since the launch.  The line up was ridiculous with an homage to the Hip Hop genre.  On Saturday our day started with the old soul De La Soul on the Rocky Stage performing their hits and ended with the feminist “Black Girls Rock” moment from Beyonce.  Sunday was a bit more jam-packed with Fabolous, Action Bronson, Jidenna, Lolawolf, Metric, Big Sean, Banks, A-Trak, J.Cole, and finally The Weeknd.

Compared to the previous years this go-round the park was definitely filled to the max.  I’m sure it had everything to do with Beyonce and the variety of Hip Hop artists.  We did notice the lack of females on the line up at only 7 of the 29 performers but Beyonce’s quote filled show with sound bites from Ronda Rousey, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and Bey herself on the women’s place in this world more than made up for it.
