Anthony Ausgang’s “Cat and Mouth”
Jonathan LeVine Projects has recently opened their group exhibition “East Looking West” at Heron Arts in San Francisco. The exhibition opened on September 16 and will continue to run it until October 7, 2017. It will include work by the following artists: AJ Fosik, Anthony Ausgang, Ben Venom, Brett Amory, Camille Rose Garcia, Carlos Ramirez, Christian Clayton, Cryptik, David Choong Lee, Gary Baseman, Isabel Samaras, Jeffrey Gillet, Jeremy Fish, Mario Martinez (Mars-1), Seonna Hong, Shag (Josh Agle), Shepard Fairey, Souther Salazar, Tim Biskup, and Tristan Eaton.
Jonathan LeVine Projects has been known for works that introduce the West Coast lowbrow aesthetic to the East Coast. They’ve showcased a certain way of life, a chance for escapism, and a fresh start to their viewers. Since then, the world has changed significantly and the West Coast aesthetic has found itself re-appropriated elsewhere. “East Looking West” aims to focus a lens on West Coast natives and examine what is happening now.
