Paul Kasmin Gallery and Mario Navarro have organized a summer showcase entitled Almost Solid Light, which features work from a group of contemporary Mexican artists. This exhibition’s title comes from the Óscar Oliva poem and is inspired by repurposed practical materials interacting with contemporary subject-matter. This exhibition celebrates the cultural exchange of American and Mexican art through the work of artists such as Adrián S. Bará, Jose Dávila, Pablo Dávila, Cynthia Gutiérrez, Circe Irasema, Valentina Jager, Mario Navarro, Jerónimo Reyes Retana, Gabriel Rico, Javier M. Rodríguez, Claudia Peña Salinas, Federico Pérez Villoro, Tezontle, Fabiola Torres-Alzaga, and Alvaro Ugarte, many of whom have never exhibited in the United States.
