The Marciano Art Foundation is currently displaying Donna Huanca’s newest project Obsidian Ladder. Using natural materials, Huanca’s exhibit highlights painted femme models among various sculpted structures. With Obsidian Ladder, she hopes to empower women, emphasize their agency with her use of the models, and overall challenge patriarchal power structures. For those who want to catch a glimpse of the work in its entirety, performances occur at the Marciano Art Foundation every Saturday from 11AM-5PM.
