April 13th, Jack Bell Gallery will be opening a new exhibition by Gonçalo Mabunda entitled, The Messenger. This will be the artist’s sixth solo show with the gallery.
Mabunda is an artist from Mozambique who creates sculptures out weaponry acquired in 1992, marking the end of a sixteen year conflict in the region. He is best known for his traditional African-influenced masks and his thrones which symbolize the vitality and power of African art and culture.
The Messenger will be on view until April 27, 2018.
