A new group exhibition entitled, How They Ran, will be opening at Over the Influence gallery in Los Angeles. This exhibition is themed on the text by Germaine Greer called The Obstacle Race. The theme opens a dialogue about how modern LA artists transcend canonical art. There is also an emphasis on diversity. The 23 artists participating in this exhibition are from various generations, backgrounds, and practices.
How They Ran features the work of Miya Ando, Amanda Maciel Antunes, Lisa Anne Auerbach, Uta Barth, Whitney Bedford, Tanya Brodsky, Kelly Brumfield-Woods, Jo Ann Callis, Katy Cowan, Dinah Diwan, Mercedes Heinwein, Pamela Smith Hudson, Francesca Gabbianai, Barbara Kruger, Alice Lang, Hilary Pecis, Ke Peng, Vanessa Prager, Monique Prieto, Anja Salonen, Kim Schoenstadt, Ali Silverstein, Jen Stark, Kerry Tribe, Lisa Diane Wedgeworth, and Megan Whitmarsh.
An opening reception will be held for How They Ran on August 11th from 6 to 9pm.
