On March 14th, the California African American Museum will be opening three new exciting exhibitions:
- In Refuge by Shinique Smith, the artist’s first solo exhibition at CAAM, she will explore the liminal spaces in which nomadic and displaced people create opportunities, shelter, and relationships.
- Filmmaker and photographer Nicole Miller will be presenting Athens, California, a show that delves into the lives of African American subjects and investigates experiences of subjectivity, self-expression, and inequality.
- Artists Eric Mack and Pamela Smith Hudson come together to bring us Charting the Terrain, an exhibition that creates an innovative perspective of the West Coast landscape using techniques from topographic and satellite maps.
