Sadie Barnette will present her new exhibition, Dear 1968,..., at the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego on April 19th. Dear 1968,… involves an investigation of the political implications of Barnette’s personal and familial history. The exhibition’s titular painting, “Dear 1968,” “Love, 1984”, is a large scale drawing of this phrase done by hand. One of the main subjects for this exhibition is Barnette’s father who played a role in the FBI, Vietnam war, and Black Panther Party.
