The Tasmanian rockers are back! Enola Fall announces their return to America with a month long cross-country tour and a sneak peak of their brand new single, “Closer.” The song mimics everything the Australian indie band is about: soul-searching lyrics atop new wave rhythmic guitar channeled through the sweet falsetto of lead singer Joe Nuttall.
In Joe’s own words, “the single is about intimacy; (not necessarily sexual, and of course not necessarily binary) and what that does to people. Nearly everyone has a memory of lying in the dark after a party or similar, and having someone reach out to hold their hand. How does that change (or fuck up!) the space between you?”
“I couldn’t go on, if there was something between us,” is a lyric that portrays Nuttall’s point best, a subtle yet relatable ode to the heavy metaphors of space in personal relationships. With a new album due out in the spring of 2017, expect more releases from the band as they play new music all throughout their tour.
