Toyin Ojih Odutola | Tell Me A Story, I Don’t Care If It’s True @ Jack Shainman Gallery

Now until October 31st, visitors can view Toyin Ojih Odutola’s solo exhibit, Tell Me A Story, I Don’t Care If It’s True at the Jack Shainman Gallery. Tell Me A Story, I Don’t Care If It’s True explores the complexity of storytelling and how viewers’ implicit bias influences their interpretation of images and the story that is being told. Anecdotes ranging from two teenagers talking before a show to a man questioning his desires, served as the inspiration and context for the exhibit. Ojih Odutola uses colored pencils, graphite, and ink at random to help with trusting herself in the telling of these stories and allowing viewers to construct their views on what the work means to them.
