Vibe says Goodbye

Multiple sources all over the web, and Twitter, have confirmed that the iconic magazine, VIBE, has folded. It is truly a sad month not only the Urban Entertainment world but in the industry as a whole. The magazine was founded in 1993 by Quincy Jones, who also was at the helm of another icons’ career, Michael Jackson; whom we lost just last Thursday. Here’s a statement from Editor in Chief & Urban Music Connoisseur, Danyel Smith (Gawker.com)
On behalf the VIBE CONTENT staff (the best in this business), it is with great sadness, and with heads held high, that we leave the building today. We were assigning and editing a Michael Jackson tribute issue when we got the news. It’s a tragic week in overall, but as the doors of VIBE Media Group close, on the eve of the magazine’s sixteenth anniversary, it’s a sad day for music, for hip hop in particular, and for the millions of readers and users who have loved and who continue to love the VIBE brand. We thank you, we have served you with joy, pride and excellence, and we will miss you.

& Editor in Chief, VIBE
This is absolutely devastating. VIBE has started many careers, including my own, and there will most definitely be a void.

It is all about the eyes. For the sultriest, smokiest eyes:
-Base your eyes with VS Makeup Pro Lasting FX Eye Shadow Primer. Creasing of the eye shadow is NOT an option…
-Apply Silky Eye Shadow Sparkle in Fierce-the sexiest, shimmery black eye shadow on the market. It makes any eye color pop! Highlight using Eye Shadow Velvet in Bunny, a nude shade that is the perfect complement. Instant sexy, indeed.
And for lips that will keep people talking long after you have stopped:
Line and fill lips with VS Makeup Lip Liner in Nude…
Apply Velvet Lipstick in Satin Sheets and top with VS Lip Gloss in Blush, it is the perfect pouty pink…
Finish with Lip Glaze in Limitless for a glossy lip that will bring Kim Kardashian to her knees!
VS Makeup will be available August 2009 in retail locations and on www.victoriasecret.com
NUVO is available at all retail liquor locations.

Men’s Spring 2010: Louis Vuitton
If you have never been interested in Louis Vuitton’s men’s ready to wear and the previous two collection before this one didn’t make you a fan, then there are two possible things that can be wrong here. One, your vision needs correction or two, you are not into men’s fashion period. LV’s menswear is at an all time greatness. It is truely like a bottle of aged wine, and it keeps getting better with time. This go ’round, Paul Helbers eye for a man on the go who loves, not likes, to be dress extremely well but still be comfortable is right on. The S/S 2010 collection consists of great key elements for a globetrotting man. The bags are not too flashy but still have an LV luxe about them. The clothing speaks for its self in a way that only Louis Vuitton could. The colors and textures are the richest I’ve seen for the season. There is nothing like a man who can get dressed, board a plane, and land in Rome ready for a meeting, followed by dinner and drinks, without a wardrobe change. Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring is the quintessential collection for the world traveling man who looks good and knows it!!!

Michael Joseph Jackson 1958-2009
We had decades of greatness since the start of Michael Joseph
Jackson’s career. The icon made history with every thing he
accomplished from album sales and over 50 concerts to the mini movie videos we all know by heart. He was not only an inspiration through music but through style. From the white glove to the red leather jacket, people from all over the globe imitated his persona. We take a look back at all of the many costumes of the King of Pop. He will be missed by us all.

I’m so in love with this simple crop tee from Wildfox Couture. With a skinny jean and wooden heel, this casual tee turns casual chic.
Try wearing this tee with a great pair of Pratt’s Flared jeans for that 70′s look!
Wildfox Couture originated from two friends, Emily Faulstich and Kimberley Gordon, who were inspired by Native American art and vintage Rock & Roll tees. The ladies had a vision that you can spread peace and love and look chic all at the same time; talk about multi-tasking. This easygoing mantra is totally wearable with their assortments crop tees and boyfriend tanks.
Visit the Wildfox clothing section on ChickDowntown.com , AMMO’s favorite online one-stop-shop.
Enter for your chance to win this tee!!! Send you Name, Age, City and State, Size, and a picture of your top item for the summer to info@ammomag.com. The winner will be choosen at random and will receive this Dreamsicle White Fang Crop Top. Entrees must be in by July 7th, 2009.
Men’s Spring 2010: Yves Saint Laurent

“Folky but formal” was the theme for Stefano Pilati’s Spring 2010 collection for YSL. With elongated tees and cropped tuxedo jackets, the overdressed nomad is look. My favorite are the highwaisted trousers, I want to see those walking down 7th ave.
