1. What’s your AMMO? (What’s inspires you?)

Everything around me! My environment, artwork, other talented people, sometimes even a casual conversation with a friend can lead to inspiration. Having the ability to inspiring others!

2. Explain the vision behind the Brian Wood Collection?

For Spring 2010 I collided 2 polar opposite worlds of the high seas, setting the stage for spring/summer 2010. I fused inspiration from traditional nautical sailing, and Somalian Pirates. I created a new warrior trolling the seas. This international traveler that faces a constant struggle from within between good boy and bad boy, either acting on thought and reason or acting on passion.

3. When did you start designing?

I was always an artist but I didn’t start to design and learn the fundamentals of fashion until I attended PRATT INSTITUTE

4. What’s next for Brian Wood, B.Wood?

B WOOD fall 2010 “BECAUSE WE FEEL LIKE IT” Brian Wood collection both current and past seasons will be available for custom orders. A gallery installation with Alpha Industries to celebrate Alpha’s 50th year Anniversary. I am currently designing a women’s evening wear collection SILVIO LIU for Holiday 2010.

5. Who is Brian?

Brian is a lone wolf howling in the moonlight. LoL! Honestly designing and everything involved with owning my own company consumes a majority of my time, so it’s a constant grind! But when I do have time I like hanging with my family and friends (My sister Meghan and Dave), spending time with my goddaughter Dana, working out at the gym, which is a great stress release and enjoying some drinks of Jack! … Woo!

Not on newstands until March, V64 features a 10-page spread inspired by the rap duo, Salt-n-Pepa.  Starring Lily Donaldson and Liya Kebede, “Push it Real Good” ranks pretty high on my favorite spread list.

Brian Reyes unveiled his new Fall/Winter 2010 collection, dubbed “Invierno 2010″, with a collaboration with Zorya Fine Art artist, Oksana Mas.  The two sketched together last September and the outcome is a mix between both personalities as seen in the collection and the runway stage.

“Oksana and I were busy creating our individual work, unbeknownst to one another,” says Reyes. “Zorianna (Founder of Zorya Fine Art) had the vision to see how our sensibilities might combine to produce something amazing. As usual, her instincts were right on.”

One thing I will always love about BCBG, as soon as you slip on something from this designer, you are instantly pulled together. The asymmetical aesthetic for Fall 2010 needed a hairstyle that would seamlessly finish the look. John Frieda International Creative Consultant Harry Josh created the bun that is super easy to replicate:

• Apply John Frieda’s Frizz-Ease Take Charge Mousse to dry hair and blow dry using your fingers to create texture.
• Pull hair back in a low ponytail and apply Root Awakening Strength Restoring Smoothing Lotion to ends. Wrap hair around to create a twisted bun, leaving the ends out to create a fringe. Or, you can tuck the ends in and have a look just as polished.

Designer Susan Cianciolo collaborated with Make-up pioneer Christopher Drummond during FW2010 fashion week and created a dramatic yet functional look that even you can achieve.

According to Christopher, “When Susan and I were talking about the look, it was very organic, literally. Her clothes are organic, and my makeup is organic-based. We took her idea of the vibrant colors that are displayed under the sea and translated them onto the face. The result was lines and stripes of blended bright colors that melted together.”

Here are the steps Christopher used to create the look:

• Concealer was applied to the face with Christopher Drummond Beauty (CDB) Velduo Velvet Foundation over it. Christopher covered the eyebrows with concealer as a base for the eye color
• Next, Christopher dipped his angled eye shadow brush into a color that would work for the model. He drew a thick, angled line from above the brow to the lashes, in one swipe. He repeated this until he had the desired color saturation. He used various colors that he thought would be interesting and used three to five different color strips on each eye
• On the bottom lashline, Christopher used one color from the outer corner to the middle, and another from the inner corner of the eye to the middle, and then blended the two together so there were two liner colors on the bottom
• Instead of using mascara, Christopher allowed the eyeshadow color to fall on the lashes to create a beautiful, dramatic, multicolored eyelash.
• Finally, Christopher painted the lips with concealer to finish the look.

And here are Christopher’s tips for translating the look from the runway to the street:

• Pick three subtle colors that you like, and place the CDB natural cocealer as a primer all over the eyelid
• Separate the eyelid in three even sections with a liner brush and a small amount of shadow (kind of like a stencil)
• Next, take a medium amount of the shadow, and press it into one section. Blend it in well.
• Do the same with the other two sections
