The eighties teased hair spray styles are back! These retro looks can easily be worn today. Look out for some of these modern remakes this fall.
The Douglas Hannant Fall 2009 show, the hair style is a modern refined version of a bouffant Mohawk. Some of the other trends seen on the runways are the tousled bedroom hair that is lightly teased up. Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 show took the look of the retro 80’s new wave style to another level. The hair is sculpted out and teased high for volume. This fall it’s ok to be a tease.
The inspiration behind the hair trends popping up on the runways is without a doubt by the influence of eighties fashion culture. Bands like Flock of Seagulls made the sculpted teased hairdos of today a welcome flashback in time. Musician Buster Poindexter was known for his signature pompadour. Who carried this style over? Our very own Rihanna. Her style is always evolving and she’s not afraid to push the envelope.
